Wright, counsel for the appellant,- will Heave Christchurch for England next- month The appeal concerns an application made hv Joseph Scales, hotelkeeper, of Ashburton, for writs of certiorari and mandamus against the Mid-Canterbury Licensing Committee (which had held that it had'no jurisdiction to hear his application for a publican’s license inj respect of the. Somerset Hotel, Ashburton). The Court of Appeal recently i granted* leave for the case to be taken on appeal to the Privy Council.
