Deanfs, Chairman of the 'Npw' Zealand Rugby Union . stated 'to-day, the Management Committee had no official informaion but since ijhe President : ha!d made a putblio .statement the Management Committee would certainly consider the matter at its meeting to-morrow.

AT GISBORNE.
GISBORNE, July 15
The British team were welcomed by the Mayor, also Maori residents, who ■entertained the team at luncheon prepared in' native style. The visitors were ; greatly intrigued by the cooking methods practised by old-time ' Maoris and were surprised by the .quality of the product of the earthen Ovens. The native cabaret entertained the tourists during luncheon, after ivhich the team proceeded to the A. and P. grounds to witness steer-rid-ing contests.
