AUCKLAND ICE CREAM COMPANIES.
AUCKLAND July 10
A further step in the. adoption of ‘the merger principle in modern business practice has been effected by the completion of negotiations for the control of-'tlie manufacture and distribution of ice-cream and frozen .food products in Auckland City and suburbs by the amalgamation of the .businesses hitherto carried on by the Robinson Ice Cream, the New Polar dec Cream, and the Astrella-Dominion Ice Cream Companies. The terms of the merger have been unanimously "greed upon by the directors of the .companies concerned and agreements to give effect to the arrangements will bo submitted to the shareholders of jthe respective companies for their approval at an early date. No details are available at present, but i.t is claimed that the amalgamation will /bring considerable benefits to shareholders in each company as well nvs to the public generally. Important economics in production costs , in deliveries, and in reduction of general overhead charges are expected to follow from the merger.
