BETWEEN DOMINION AND SYDNEY.
WELLINGTON, July 11
Owing to- a very heavy falling off in passenger traffic between New Zealand and Australia the Union Steam lliip Company advises ..that it will be impracticable to continue the present sen ice to and from Sydney during the winter months. The slafaina will accordingly be withdrawn on her arrival at Wellington from Sydney on i’nosday mopping, and until the end of October the service will be maintained by the Maunganui and 'TJlimnroa, in conjunction with the through trans-Pacific mail steamers.
Tn order to commence the new running the Maunganui will leave Auck- - nd on" Wednesday for Wellington; is due here on Friday morning, and will leave again the same afternoon for ‘Hney. On the subsequent inward trips she will proceed coastwise be- ' ween Wellington and Auckland to enable Iter to maintain regular outward sailings. , . ’ I.v V 1 This new arrangement will mean >‘Vht when the Vancouver or San Fran's-/- mail steamer, leaves Auckland of !
