Canadian wheat pool advised the Australian Press Association that the pool is not issuing any crop reports this season except oonfiden'tiall reports to their directors and to officials of the Canadian Government. ■Reports, however, indicate that while good yields are promised in Manitoba, crops in Saskatchewan and Alberta have been dama, gied by high winds and drifting soil and by a deficiency of subsoil moisture, accentuated by recent extremely hot weather.
The pool stated there were the usual rumours that it was in desperate straits, but this would be emphatically denied by banking and governmental officials. The pool was adding steadily to its membership and its marketing policies in an exceedingly trying period were endorsed by such unprejudiced authorities as Montreal Board and Harbour Commissioners. Some of the loudest clamours against the pool originated from officials wlio stated the Harbour Board report asserted “The pool lias conducted extremely tactful and skilful merchandising programme throughout two singular crop years.”
