The Now Zealand League team engaged in an exhilarating contest against the New South Wales, Western district team at Bathurst to-dny. The largest crowd seen there in the last twenty' years was present. The weather was fine and the ground in good order. The New Zealand team won the .match by 20 points to 16. The New Zealand forwards wc.re prominent. In the early play, Abbott broke from a scrum, passing to Brisbane, who scored.—N.Z. 3; Westerners 0. Shortly afterwards, Brisbane was tackled bard by Wright and lie had to leave the field with concussion. Dili tv missed an effort at a penalty goal. It was a gruelling game, which should do the visitors good. The scores for New Zealand were tries by Meyer (2), Brisbane (1), Watene fl); gaols, Gregory, 3 converted and one penalty.
