GOLD MINING AT ROSS

Active work commenced early in the beginning of the year at Greenland Gold Mine, and much valuable work has been carried out on the property to date. All the preliminary work has been completed to such an extent that productive work can now be begun.. A battery test of fifteen tons has been put through, taken from twelve different places in the mine, and gave a value of £3 7s fid per ton by amalgamation only, and as the concentrates *•
are of high value, and cyanide extraction will be used for treatment of the sands by those processes it will bring the value to over £4 per ton from tested stone. There arc 60,000 toils of quartz in sight in the property easily accessible find a suitable; engine wiU immediately be installed for the constant treatment of the ores, and at the sa’”e timo further development work will be carried out to extend the lengths and depths of those huge ore bodies that exist on this property. 1
