San Franciscans lined roof-tops, thronged the civic centre and crowded Mills Field on Monday as Kingsford Smith and his companions flew in the Southern Cross from Oakland. The fliers were hurried to Emarcadero where a- parade was formed. With sirens screeching the procession moved up Market St. to the City Hall, where the airmen were greeted by Mayor James Rolph. After the reception they were guests at informal receptions and a formal banquet at night concluded the ceremonies.
