Curious breach of promise case heard in London recently. Came out in evidence that the lady objected to her intended smoking and said he must choose! between her and liis pipe. He chose -the pipe! Whereupon she sued him for breach, and claimed a thousand pounds damages*. The judge when summing up said he believed with Tt. L. Stevenson* that no woman should marry a non-smoker.
