ADDINGTON ~STOCK SALES

CHRISTCHURCH, July 2,

At. the Addington, live stock sale to-day, prices were for tlie most part firm and unaltered. Beef.—There were 445 fat cattle yarded, including both North Island and West Coast consignments. The quality was good and prices were firm at late rates. - Steers sold: Extra to £23'’ 2s 6d, prime £ls 12s to £l7 10s, medium £ll to £l3, plain £6 10s to £8 ss. Cows and Heifers sold: Extra to £ls 2s fid. prime £9 to £l3 ss, medium £7 10s to £8 10s, light £4 10s' to £6 10s.

Mutton.—'There were 4000 fat- sheep yarded." - Tlie quality was not up to that of last week. There were some good wethers forward and prices were firm. Wethers sold: Extra to 33s Id, prime 23s to 26s 6d, medium 22s to 25s 6d. light L9s to 21s. Ewes sold: Extra,-to 24s lOcf, prime 19s to 225, 6d. medium 14s 6d to 18s, light 10s to 14s.

Store sheeip.—The store lambs coinprised a small offering, and met a dragging sale. Best three-quarter bred ewe's sold to 19s 9d, halfbred 16s 6d, .mixed sex 10s Id to 11s 2d, inferior 7s 7d to 9s. The adult stor e sheep yarded numbered. 1800. The quality was not attractive. Wethers sold at 16s 6d to 16s 9d. Romney ewes 21s, three-quarter bred ewes 225, aged ewes 5s to 15s 6d. Fat la,milk’.—There were 1355 head yarded. The quality was mixed and light. Prices were at last week’s level. Extra sold to 32s 4d, prime 26s 6d to 28s, medium 22s to 255, light 12 s to 21s.

Pigs.—There was a small yarding of pork and bacon. Prices were.firm at slightly improved rates. Choppers sold £3.10s to £8 8s 6d, pork 45s to 555, heavy 58s 6d to £3 8s 6d, average price per lb 9d. Bacon sold £3 12s 6d .ho £4 ss, heavy £4 8s 6d to £5, extra to £6. The average was 7d per pound.
