Garrison towns such as Mainz and Coblenz will ibe hard hit by the disappearance of the armies of occupation, which importantly contributed to tliei.r prosperity.
To-night’s celebrations at Mainz included the illumination of the banks and bridges of the Rhineland and bonfires on the isuirroninding bills. Massed choirs and bands joined in thanksgiving hymns and patriotic songs.
