SYDNEY, July 1
The New Zealand Rugby League team arrived at Sydney to-day alter a fine voyage.
They were met at the wharf' bv the League Board of Control ofliicals. After breakfast the team went into training at the Sports Ground. Press photographers were numerous. Subsequently the team were welcomed at the League headquarters by the. President, Mr Flegg.
The various speakers wished the visiting team success. All were grentiv impressed by the physique of the group.
The New Zealanders are hoping for a- reasonable share of victories, though Australia has high standards.
Managers Ferguson and Taylor responded, acknowledging the tributes paid. Tbe former mentioned the alliance of two countries in Anzac, the Kingsford Smith combination, Norman Brooks, and Anthony Wilding in the tennis sphere, and Gvimniett, the New Zealander, with the Australian cricketers..
Mr Taylor said that this side- was the best that New Zealand had ever sent across the .Tasman. : It.was. -a -•’thful and confident team.
Mr Schmitt, the-New -Zealand Governinent’s Trade 'Commissioner in Australia, also .greeted the team, which gave a rousing “Hahn.” ■ There > will 'be a civic reception tomorrow. : On Tlmrsdav find Friday the team’s managers will speak over the radio hero.
