RICHARDS DEFEATED.

AUCKLAND, June 30.

The welterweight boxing contest between Billy Richards (Queensland) and Reg. Trowern (Auckland) was held at the Town Hall to-night, and it resulted in a win for the Aucklander on points. The contest Was very oven, Richards not doing so well as his admirers expected. This, however, was due to Trowern’,s speed and cleverness. The Aucklander was always willing to mix it, and the decision in his favour was very popular.,

INFANT’S BODY FOUND

WELLINGTON, July 1

The body of a newly born infant was found at the rear of a building in Boulcott Street yesterday. When the discovery was made, the body was submerged in some water contained in a receptacle in an outbuilding. Inquiries are at present being conducted by. the police.
