THOUCHTS FOR THE TIMES.
FOOTBALL PROWESS It is a. rather controversial subject, that of the style of Rugby that has been developed in New Zealand of later years, We are not concerned to discuss it, unless- to say that, to hold its own, the game must be good to look at. The British footballers, it remains to add, are particularly welcome in our midst, not only as players, but as representatives of tne Alother Country the bonds linking our own Dominion to which cannot but be strengthened by such friendly vista. If New Zealand lias forgotten anything about Rugby surely a reminder cannot come from a more welcome source than the ■original home of this virile game. Through the two contests in which they haw ipnrticvptfted a 4 Dunedin, the British players have written a page in the history of football in Otago which, years lienee, veteran followers of the game will oe recalling to point a moral and adorn a tale. —Otago Daily Times.
