EXTENDS TO BROKEN HILL

Owing to the heavy decline in the prices of lnv.se metals, the three chief mines at Broken Hill, namely the Sulphide Corporation, the Broken Hill Proprietory, and Block Fourteen are closing down unless the employees agree to a seventeen and a half per cent, wage reduction, The Miners Union met the mine owners in conference, and it is now considering the position. Still another mine, the British, 3s closing down next Saturday.
