AN ACTOR DEAD

NIEW YORK, June 24

• A message from West Newton, Massachusetts states Henry Jewett, the actor, died a.t his home there to-day, aged 68 years. He was born in Australia. He spent his early years there and/ in New Zealand. He first appeared in United States and Sian Francisco in 1892. Jewett is survived by a widow', Frances.

If India, China and Russia could only realise the good to come from the acceptance of Rotary’s programme, much would be added to the tranquility of the world, Mr Rogers declared to-day, in one of the keynote addresses at the Rotary Conference. “Rotary must increase its usefulness as a fact finding organisation, and increase its influence by shaping healthy pui'olic opinion. Rotary eantuot decide issues, local or international. but it can influence its members and friends to approach discussion and decision of important, though perpifexing problems, in tho pro,per spirit.
