Mr Crofts told the International Labour Conference that it was a common belief in ■ Australia,■'.that the next war would be in the Pacific, and . that was why Australian workers . had linked up With theypan-Pacific Society in the hope ofAaverting-such a conflict. Mr Crofts welcomed the Director’s suggestion to convene a conference of the Pacific peoples, and' lie urged M. Thomas to make its chief aim the prevention of war.
