FIRE OUTBREAK
Tlie main fire bell rang out an alarm of fire last night a few minutes'' after 11 o’clock. The scene of the outbreak was a four roomed cottage on the west side of Revell Street, the nearest building to the river.- The alarm was given by residents of Beach Street and was continued by the nightwatcliman who had just ascended the tower a few minutes before. The Brigade were soon) on: the scene and a line of hose soon had the blaze under control. The fire apparently broke out in the middle partition, and ran up the wall to the ceiling which was partly gutted, while the furniture and effects were considerably damaged by smoke and water. The (building which is owned • »by Mrs James Lincoln senr., was not Insured. The furniture was insured for £llO in the Royal Office by Mr W. Christiansen, who had not been living in the house for some time, Mrs Christivisen having been living with her mother (Mrs Lincoln, Senr.) owing to the latter being in ill-health, and she had not been in the house for some days.
