The foregoing resolution was passed this evening at a conference between a Special Committee of the City Council ; the members of the staff, and Council employees; which meeting was held to consider the proposal in a resolution carried at last meeting of the City Council 'lor the introduction of the 44 hours working week for the (pb.uiicißs employees, the,' purpose of Djis being to the unemployment.';

The meeting was boycotted by larger 'groups of employees of the City Council.
