The organiser of the New Zealand Fur Board reports the Board has arranged a market for all its members of A'ugo.ra wool. The fallowing are. the approximate prices delivered in England to buyers:—Grading, first graue 30s per ID; second 255, third £1 2s, fourth ss. First grade is plucked three inches, second shorn three inch, third shorter, fourth, clean matted and cottod.

CYCLIST KILLED

CAMBRIDGE, June 19

In the early'hours of this morning a fatality occurred on tho mam road at Karapro, about three miles from Cambridge, -wlion. Robert Adams, about 30 years of age, single, was knocked off a bicycle through a collision with a car and killed almost instantaneously. He sustained shocking injuries, including the left arm badly fractured, leg broken at the tnigli and. grievous wounds to his face.

Deceased was cycling to Cambridge. It is surmised that his cycle skidded in loose sand, and evidently the car ran right over the man and the cycle, The car driver, James Oliver Barnett, of Putararu, sustained a gash over the temple and is suffering from shock. A companion, (Malcolm 'Angus, is uninjured, but is suffering from shock.

tYAIPUKURAU, June 19.

Reuben Harold Ellison and Edwin Charles Ellison, farmers at Makar retu, appeared before a Justice of the Peace this morning and charged witn stealing 21 sheep valued at £lB 10s at Makaretu, the property of Edward Henry Thomson, on March 10th. They were remanded till June 20th, bail being allowed.

PIG BREEDERS ASSOCIATION

PALMERSTON N,, June 19

At the annual meeting, of the New Zealand Pig Breeders Association the vacancies on the Council were filled by the election of F. J. Cornwall, W. P. B. Ikers, and J. A. McLenden. It was resolved in order to make the Council more representative the Dominion will be divided into wards according to membership, each to se ilect its representative. A motion was passed favouring' the removal ot duties on imported pig foods.

GISBORNE HARBOUR BOARD.

GISBORNE, June 19

As a consequence of the Harbour Board’s decision to levy a harbour improvement rate and other iro cased charges against coastal vessels using the inner harbour, shipping companies operating on the East Coast, state they are compelled immediately to • advance all freights a half crown per ton. It is understood that representative sof the Ch'erseas Shipping Coy., are also considering the position created by the Board’s decision, which in relation of overseas ships will mean; an additional expense up to £75 against future arrivals CATTLE BREEDERS’ ASSOCIATION. McKay (Hawera) was appointed secretary and orgauisei. The next annual meeting will ho at Palmerston North and no haL yearly meeting is to be held.

A claim for £3OO for alleged wrongful dismissal was heard in the Supreme Court before Air Justice Kennedy. Samuel McDougall, a salesman, of Christchurch, plaintiff, alleged that defendant Leslie Beaumont Miller agreed to give him permanent employment. Plaintiff came from Glasgow to New Zealand and alter working from December 14, 1928. to May 18, 1929, was dismissed. The decision was reserved.
