Hector John Shaw, a farmer of Tauwhare, charged with dangerous driving so as to cause the death of Thomas Barton Shaw on May Bth, at Newstead, was committed for trial.

The practice of some Canadian merchants in buying New- Zenand butter in bulk and sellhig it under other labels was discussed by the Auckland Chamber of Commerce. A leading firm of exporters said it had insisted on its butter being sold under its label. Another exporter said if New Zealand attempted dictation in this matter it might alienate good customers. The only goodwill New Zealand cold hold was that of first purchaser.
