SUVA, June 17
A shocking tragedy occurred at Nnsiuu stone crusher last opening. Sabben, a Government mechanical engineer, with his wife, arrived with explosives and stones in a car. Sabben left the car and a minute or two later there was an awful explosion. Elliott, manager of the stone crusher, was approaching the car, and both he and Sabben wore flung to the ground, hut escaped serious injury. The ground was covered with tiny nieces of flesh and hone, and -Mrs Sabhen’s mangled head and upper part of her shoulders were found three chain away over a. creek. Some ol her clothing was wrapped round the windscreen some yards away. The car contained 60 pounds of gelignite, two hundred dotnnnters and a quantity of benzine. Two feet, cut off at the ankle, were found 60 ya ,- ds away. Ms Sabben was a daughter of White a Woolwich leather manager. The cause of the explosion is a mystery.
