PARENTS AT NEW YORK

NEW YORK, June 15.

Foreign Rotarians have arrived here on tlio Caronia to attend tile Rotary convention at Chicago from June 23rd to July 27th. Among them were Miss Amy Johnson’s family, Air and Mrs J. W. Johnson, and their daughter Mollie.

Mr Johnson has apparently been the most important man aboard, and very popular. He said lie had been confident that his daughter would attni her purpose. He said: “She lias always been a determined girl. She deserves evrything .she may get by her daring feat. We are all very proud of her. It lias been very gratifying to hear all the pleasant things that have been said about Amy on the voyage over, and on our arrival here. We will tell her all about it when she comes home.”

He stated that he and Mrs Johnson expect to meet Amy on July 16th. at Marseilles.

MELBOURNE, June 16

Miss Amy Johnson arrived at tho Moonec Valley Racecourse to-day in a Moth aeroplane. She was a couple of hours late.

The De Haviland plane which had carried her became lost in blinding rain, and mist, and it was unable to land. She was then flown to Laverton, and there transferred to a Moth. A crowd of fifteen thousand gave her a rousing welcome. y
