A DECREASE

NEW PLYMOUTH, June 13

There were 5067 unemployed in the Dominion for the week ended on June 9, according to the statement issued to-day by the Hon S. G. Smith, Minister of Labour. Of this number, 2674 registered at labour bureaux and the post offices as being with dependents, while 2393 had not dependents.

The total shows a decrease of 192 over the figures at the end of the previous week.

The details of the registrations in cities are:—

Auckland :—With dependents, 700; without dependents, 593.,

Wellington With 4 3; without dependents,- 304. Christchurch:— With dependents, 494; without dependents, 421. Dunedin:—With dependents, 143; without dependents, 124.

Invercargill-With dependents, G 7 ; without dependents, 68. Totals for the five centres, with the figures for the previous week given in parenthesis area — Auckland' 1293 (1380), Wellington 647“ (650); Christchurch 915 (911), Dunedin ,267 '336), Invercargill 135 (161).
