Very stiff sentences were imposed on the Gaiwhais, court martialled on a charge of refusing to obey orders during the Peshawar disturhan.es. One man was sentenced to transportation for life, another to fifteen years’ imprisonment, and Hie remaining fifteen to terms ranging from three to ten years rigorous imprisonment.
