VISIT TO EDINBURGH

(Received this day at 9.40 a.m.) , RUGBY, June 12. The Prince of Wales visited Edinburgh to-day on the occasion, of the liii ciliary of the Royal Infirmary. On his arrival at the Royal .Infirmary, a large crowd welcomed him, while inside many of Edinburgh's representative citizens and managers and heads ol nursing ami administrative si alls ..were presented to him. ' The Prince visited .several ol the wards and in the doctor’s room scratched his name' on a table which boars the names of many distinguished visitors, including the King and Queen. On leaving the Infirmary, His Royal Highness visited the National War Memorial Shrine at Edinburgh Castle.

At a luncheon in the City Chambers, the Lord Provost of Edinburgh, in proposing the health ol the Prince, said a. great scheme of enlargement of the Royal Infirmary, which was contemplated, would cost hall- a million sterling, hut lie thought that sum would lie raised now that his Royal Highness, by his visit, had drawn attention to their great institution. The 'Prince afterwards left by aeroplane for London.
