DOMINION TOUR
TENTATIVE ITINER ARY
CHRISTCHURCH, June 12,
An itinerary for the visit of the Chief Scout', Lord Baden-Powell, was arranged at the quarterly conference of the District and Metropolitan Commissioners held in Christchurch yesterday. The itinerary is to be forwarded to Lord Baden-Powell for bis approval.
There were present at the conference :—•
The Dominion Chief Commissioner (Colonel P. C. Fenwick), the Auckland Metropolitan Commissioner (-or W. J. Holds worth), the Wellington Metropolitan Commissioner (Sir Alfred Robin), Cnmmander Hall, R.N., the Rev. W. H. Orbell, Mr Bishop, and Mr H. S. J. Goodman.
“We are looking forward eagerly to the visit of the Chief Scout and making the necessary preparations to welcome him on his arrival,” Colonel Fenwick to a reporter of the ‘ Press.” “We are unable to make a final decision until we know whether his .ship, the Pnneitane, calls first at Auckland or at Wellington. Until we know that, the rallies cannot be arranged. If tne shin goes to Auckland the tour will begin there. Our itinerary is being submitted to the Chief Scout, and a" soon as he cables his approval, it will be made public.” Lord Baden-Powell, he added, would have only 22 davs in New Zealand, hut would travel right through the country. He would proceed then to Sydney for the Australian tour. There was a discussion at the mecying on tb° ouestinu of the use of the Zealand hand-book" for the training nf Sea Remits. Other minor business was considered.
