The Executive of the above League met at the Towu Clerk’s Office at 7.45 o’clock. Present: Dr Teicheliiniim (President), Messrs J. J. AlcIntosli. AY. Searle, AV. AYilson, T. AY. Duff, I). J. Evans, W. E. Richards, N. S. Dew and H. G. Coles. Apology was made for the absence of Air A) . Butler.
The minutes of : the previous meeting were ednfirined. A cordial vote of-thanks was passed to Dr Teichelminul for bis kindness in entertaining the"good-will party at his residence with a display of Westland scenic pictures.

From County Council notifying vote of £5 towards, entertaining the Christchurch visiting party • similar notificaion from Borbilgh 1 Council.—Received with thanks. /"'
From E. ,James with respect to tourist traffic' ahd proposed vi's't to Ausralia.—Received ;'no action taken. From Alinister of Public AYorks notifying position- regarding Dorothy. Falls Road, in respect to which the! survey was in -hand-.—Received. It was resolved to telegraph the Minister pointing out the survey was completed and that a number of unemployed were seeking work, and asking that construction, be commenced as soon as possible, living camps being available. From Commercial Agent of the New Zealand Railways, explaining that the tariff on bay and like fodder to the Coast was at a special rate, and that a preferential tariff for back freights could * not be made for economic reasons.—Received. Air Mclntosh complained of the high freight on pedigree stock, and also mentioned that the freight on mangels was greater than the cost of the- produce in Canterbury. From Canterbury and Marlborough Leagues forwarding copies of minutes of meetings.—Received, .. Frofn Minister, of Defence, regarding an aviation site in AYestland, stating Sea yie.\v .Hill was quite suitable, but funds could not be voted for putting an area in order,, that being a matter for the local' bodies Tinder the legislative powers enacted; the Minister added that an Air■ Force Officer would inspect Lake Maliinapua as to its suitability .as a seaplane landing.—Received with thanks. ... . .
From. Organiser, Canterbury Winter Show, stating,, the Exhibition would open on August. 9th. and . extend to August 23rd., and hoping a AVest Coast bay .would be .arranged, also promising to confer ajt the end of the mouth when arranging the school excursion. to the Kokatahi-Koiterangi Show being dropped. this year it would not he possible, to proceed with a Westland Bay, and it was decided to advise the mfemviser accord i ngly-. : T-he matter of a stand for publicity purposes was referred- .to .Dr./rpichelgiann to look into.
GENERAL
Accounts to the amount of £l were passed for payment. It .wiiS resolved to ask for a Monday train ...service with Christchurch, ao.d; •alsm, ftp- a in goods freights from Dunedin to Hokitika as existed from Dunedin to Greymouth ; the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce to be asked to co-operate in the matter.
