The statement on British Empire trade, adopted by the Canadian Manufacturers Association at its annual meeting at Toronto to-day, declared when proper safeguarding of the interests of Canadian producers, industrial or argricutual, had been assured every practical plan to increase trade among the British countries should be supported. Officials at Santo Domingo have been aroused by the political assassination, at San Jose de Mutas, oi Virgilia Royna, Secretary to exPresident Vasquez, whom agriculturists overthrew in the revolution of February. Royna was knifed and beheaded in his home. His wife was also assassinated.
