BOXING

SCHMELING V. SHAIIKEY

| United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.]

NEW YORK, June 4

At Endicotl, Max Schmeling to-day boxed six rounds with four sparring partners, giving excellent boxing lessons to two and finishing tlie others completely. Sehmeling’s schedule calls for a work-out to-morrow, a rest on Thursday, boxing on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, a rest on Monday, and final work-out on Tuesday next. The German’s condition is excellent fiom all observations. He is not over-con-fident, hut apparently is quite sure of himself.

A message from Orangeburg states Jack Sharkey, weighing two hundred pounds, boxed five rounds, hut did little other work, due to intense heat. His left to the body was much in evidence, with which, it is expected, ho will try to wear down Schmeling in the early rounds. Sharkey plans to continue boxing every day until two days before the fight. LEOKIH V. SHACK. # By Telegraph— Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, June 4.
