“THE FLYING FLEET”

TO-NIGHT

Ramon Novarrq,’ as a naval aviator, staging a series of ■•thrilling rides in tjie clouds, is the hero of “The I*lying Fleet,” Mebro-Goldwyn-Mayer’s vivid dam a of naval aviation which will be shown at the Princess Theatre tonight. The new-‘production, made with real naval flyers, is a graphic inside view of life at a naval seaplane training base. Most of the pictuie was filmed, in the air and landings, take offs from the big seaplanes and a sensational rescue at sea, with an airplane burned for a beacon, are other amazing details. There have been air pictures before, and great ones, but in “The Flying Fleet” more of the Jhrills of flying have been caught than, peiliaps, were ever before placed on the •setteen. There, a,re several reasons. One was that the most daring aviators of the Navy, including the famous “Suicide Squad,” staged them. Another was that the photography from the camera planes involved many nev discoveries in getting the ultimate thrill from such spectacles. Through the thrills runs ajimipin interest story oif the friendships of. a group of stud-; cuts, and a love story in which jealousy severs friendship until a time comes for a supreme sacrifice. Geoige Hill, Ihmous director of “Tell it to the Marines,” and “Fife- Cossack's,” directed'the new picture, with a notable cast that includes Anita Page as heroine, Gardner -James. Ralph Graves. Can oil Nye, Eddie Nugen, Sumner Getcholl and others of not?. ?
