The New Zealand Tennis Association lias received no reply to the invitation to South Africa to send a team to New Zealand. It considers New Zealand cannot finance the tour without assistance from Australia but the latter does not consider Africa will be a sufficient draw.

It was suggested at a meeting of the Council that a Japanese team might be invited, and this found favour.

The recent visit of an Australian team resulted in a net profit, after refunding small losses on some games; of £53. It was reported that Auckland did ‘better than any other centre.
