The steamer, Favourite, carrying 150 passengers, ran aground in Botany Bay during the usual mid-week excursion. Two of the crew set out on a raff to .secure assistance, but were soon in difficulties,'and when last seen in the early Hours of the morning they were being rapidly borne seaward Meanwhile me passengers on the Favourite were taken ashore in launches.
