SWEARING IN TO-DAY. TBy Telegraph, Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, May 26. The Prime Minister-elect (the Hoir. G. W. Forbes) returned to Wellington', to-day from Auckland, where-, he ,ga y e. His Excellency the- Governor-General and undertaking.that he would form a Ministry. ..i ■ > Mr Forbes spent the day in fico overtaking arrears of Departmental work, and .was again at Iris desk until a late hour to-night.-The new Ministry .will be sworn ini at 1 p.m. oil Wednesday, and following that ceremony the new Prime' Minister is expected., to make an important statement concerning the Government’s financial programme for the year. While lobby speculation has been confined to likely additions to the Cabinet the fact has' been overlooked that on his assumption of the office of Prime Minister,. Mj? Forbes will be entitled to a.seat on 'the Privy Council. This appointment which carries with it the right tq the use of the title “Right Honourable’’ can be expected among the •announcements in the Birthday"Houourf;List next week.
