NEW YORK, May 25

A m. s tage from Flagstaff, Arizona, states tiu.t the Lowell Observatory Scientists have selected the name of Pluto for the recently-discovered planet, cabled on May 13th. One scientist stated“We have felt that the line of the Roman GocLsi after whom the other planets are named, should not be broken. This discovery lias been so preeminently a triumph of reasoning that our choice would have been Minerva if that name had not been born for many years by an Asteroid.”

He also stated that Pluto would lend itself easily to the Monagramme “PI” which are' Percy Lowell’s initials.
