The Prime Minister-elect, the Hon. CL, W. Forbes, who loft here by tonight’s limited train for Auckland, intends after conferring’ with the Governor-General to proceed immediately by motor to Rotorua on il visit to his old leader, S'-r Joseph Yard. He will return’to Wellington by Monday morning and thou proceed with th(> selection -of his Cabinet and the allocation of portfolios. ■ Mr Forbes’s interest in the Native race is shown in his rep-y to conera relations from T' r - VT. Mr Forbes in reply telegraphed: 1 wish to- convey-.to yon-res a descendant and to Neati-Kahungonu as the tribe ,of -mv former elder,- Sir JamesCarroll,: my thanks- for. the message received. Tt is u.nfortunate thatnmy selection should have hecoin.a because of the illness of my chief, Sir -JosephWard.
