MELBOURNE, May 26,
Speaking at the Royal Empire Society dinner the Chief Justice, Sir William Irvine, said no right of power was included in the Commonwealth Constitution for Ministers to tender advice to the King of which His Majesty was bound to act in the appointment of a Governor-General or in any other matter. Any obligations of a Sovereign to act on Ministerial advice was j clearly excluded from the terms of the Constitution itself.

WESTR ALLAN MOVEMENT.

Tile campaign for the secession ol Western Australia from the Commonwealth was initiated (before a packed enthusiastic audience at the Memorial Hall. The Premier was in the chair and many .parliamentarians spoke in support of the movement.
