ADDINGTON STOCK SALE.

CHRISTCHURCH, May 21.

There was a good yarding of fat cattle, of mixed quality. The market showed a hardening tendency, although it was irregular. There was practically no quotablo change on the late rates.. Extra heavy steers sold to £22 7s 6d, prime £l3 to £ls ss, medium £lO to £l2, plain £7 10s to £9 10s. Best heifers sold to £ls 7s fid, prime £8 to £9 15s, plain from £7. Extra heavy cows : sold to £ls 12s fid, prime £lO to £l2 10s, edum £8 to £9 10s plain from £5. There was a full yarding of fat sheep, mostly ewes. There was a better tone in the markets. Extra heavy wethers, sold to 30s 4d, prime 25s fid to 28s fid, medium 23s to 255, light 17s to 22s fid ;extra heavy ewes to 25s Id. prime 19s to 22s fid medium 15s fid to 18s, light from 10s fid. There was a medium yarding of store sheep, chiefly .nondescript lots. The store lambs showed a good advance on late rates. There was also a healthier tone for adult store sheep. The best lots firmed slightly. There was a medium yarding of fat lambs, of mixed quality. It being near the end of the season, the market was firm at Inter rates, with a slight increase on the better grades. Best lambs sold ?7s fid to 295, medium 23« to '2ss fid, lighter 19s fid to 225, unfinished lots from 15s. There was a medium entry of fat pies. Porkers were sol line at Lit® rates, and hnonnors ivp*’o also firm Choppers sold £3 to £fi fis, light norkcrs £2 to £2 7s fid, heavy £2 IDs to £3, the average price per lb being 7d + o 7'd. Baconers sold £3 3s fid to £3 15s, heavy £3 17s fid to £1 10s fid, extra heavy to £5 fis fid, the average being fid to 7d per lb.
