Mr Robert Masters, chairman of the United Party during the 1928 election campaign ; and formerly Member for Stratford, denies the suggestion tliAt lias been made in the press that he is in the Held as a possible successor to Sir Joseph Ward as Prime. Minister. THE CAtTCTS MEETS. WELLINGTON, May 21. The United Party caucus to select a new loader commenced at 1.0.30 a.m., all members of. the party being present except Mr Fletcher, who was not invited. It is understood that each aspirant to the leadership will address the caucus on policy questions, after which a vote will he taken. It is not anticipated the ballot will be reached until well on in the afternoon.
