\t the swimming carnival this evening, 0. Bridson established a new Dominion record for 500 metres lo covering the distance in 0 minute;59 4-5 seconds, as against A. Baird’.' previous figures of 7 miiiutes 14 3-5 seconds.
Miss Gladys Pidgeon created a new standard for the 400 metres breaststroke, taking 7 lninutes 57 1-5 .second-- .
