NEW YORK, May 17

At Koneygrove, Texas, a further example of the recent outbreak of lynehings (cabled on May 9th), occurred when a mob of three thousand Texan whites sey'ed a negro from the police, dragged him through the streets and burned the victim. The drenching rain dispersed the mob. Tile negro was suspected of assaulting a landowner. He had barricaded himself in a cabin. A sheriff’s posse surrounded him. and endeavoured to arrest him, but the mobsters rushed in and seized the negro.
