To .be menaced by an enraged Jersey bull for some four hours with only a fence between them and a precipice wag the terrifying experience of a wellknown solicitor and his wife, Mr and Mrs A. J v Malley, and two ffiends, Mr and Mrs W. Jones, last Sunday, afternoon. The party had motored to the top of |jje Sumner-Lyttelton road and, leav car there, proceeded on foot up the spur, which forms the crest of the hill extending towards Mount pleasant. Before they had covered much ground they were horrified to see at bull bearing down upon them. To return the way they had come was impossible, and their only refuge appeard to be a fence which they could see to their immediate left. The fence however, skirted the top of a precipice, but fortunately on the cliff side there were narrow abutments, just sufficient to irive room for the party to huddle motionless there. Mr Malley crawled ( away round the cliff and got help, but it was not until about fi.3o p.m. that Airs Malley and Mr and Ms Jones were rescued, after their terrible ordeal.
