Walter Vincent Thiele left his wife, Annie Louisa Thiele, in 1900,. and went to the South African War. It was ! 'thought he had been killed in South Africa, ns his medals and bq’longings were sent home. Several years later his wife married Alexander /John Barber. But in 1929, Barber met Thiele in the street in Christchurch, arid Thiele admitted bis identity. Berber had been living apart from his wife for some years prior to this date. In the Supreme Court to-dav, Barber sought a decree of nullity in respect of his marriage with Annie Louisa Thiele on the ground that the husband of the previous marriage was still living. An order absolute was made.
