FAST TRAVEL BY AIR
CHOCOLATE FIRM. ACQUIRES MOTH. WELLINGTON, May 12. The first’ business aircraft service in New Zealand was officially opened at tne Roiigotai Airport to-day by the Deputy-Mayor (Mr M. F. Luekie), who was the first passenger to take a complimentary flight. Captain McGregor, on behalf of Hamilton Airways, Ltd., handed over the aeroplane, a Gipsy Moth, painted a rich chocolate, to Mr George Sara, director of the firm of Messrs Cadbury, Fry, and Hudson, Ltd., who will use it for speedier business travel Mr Luekie congratulated the firm on being the first to establish its own commercial air service in New Zealand, and was proud that the Wellington airport, established by its Mayor and Councillors was the point of departure for the first business service of tbe kind, ,
Mr George Sara, director of Messrs Cadbury, Fry, and Hudson, Ltd., said that there had been some curiosity regarding the acquisition of the machine by the company. It was simply a matter of expediency. The horse and buggy were once the means of transport, • and now they had the train and car, but while continuing to make use of other means of transport, they were determined to, utilise tbe mod rapid when it suited, Several complimentary flights were then given.
