Threats of 'physical violence and bombs were contained in anonymous letters, written to a member of the Opposition, caused a stir in tbe Senate.

Sir George Pearce, Leader of the Opposition,* while speaking on the waterside dispute concerning pick-up places, mentioned such threats bad been made to certain members of the Opposition, who are solemnly warned not to thwart the unionists’ plans, but Pearce added that members of the Opposition were not going to be deterred from doing what they .regarded as public duty.
