ADDINCTON STOCK SALE. CHRISTCHURCH, May 14. Beef was inclined to be cheaper at Addington sale to-day. Lambs rind baconers were firm, but other lines were easier. Beef: There were 545 fat cattle yarded. The steers were good and the cows were average. There was an easier . tone and the sale was slow. Steers sold: Heavy £l7 to £2O 3.s (kl, prime £l3 to £ls ss, medium £lO to £l2, plain £7 to £9 ss. Cows and heifers sold: Best £ll to £l4 12s (id, j medium £7 15s .to.£lo 10s lights £4 10s to £6 10s. - 1 Pigs: There was a medium yarding of pork, the quality being poor. - Good sold at late rates, and others were easier. Bacon was firm at late rates. Choppers sold £2 5s to £6 13s 6d, pork £1 los to £2 ss, heavy £2 (is Gd to £2 15s Gd; average price 7d per lb. Bacon sold £2 17s Gd to £4, heavy to £4 13s Gd, average 6d per lb. Store sheep: The buyers were operat'ing cautiously. Values were on a par with late rates. Cull lambs were easier. Fat sheep: Recent rates were maintained for fat sheep. There was a fairly heavy yarding. Extra prime wethers sold 29s (id to 30s lOd, prime wethers 2(xs to 28s Gd, medium 22s to 255, light from 16s. Extra prime heavy ewes sold to 23s 7d,, prime 19s to 22s 6d, mediftm 15s to 17s Gd, light from 10s. Fat lambs: There was a good entry of fat lambs, the quality being generally good. Values were a shade firmer. Extra prime heavy lambs sold to 27s lOd, prime lambs 22s to 24s Gd, medium 18s Gd to 21s, light from 15s Gd. Calves and runners showed a drop in values.
