Second Purua Hack.—(2) Yalstreot (11. Gray) 1, (6) Ben Hur 2, (9) Auctioneer 3. Scr.—-.Callapat, Green Acre, Elysian Lady. Won by one length; half a length. Time 1.14 1-5. Hack Steeplechase.—(2) .Red Bank (A. McDonald) 1, (5) Hymestrason 2, (1) Waitaunaha 3. Also started.
Maidos, Bendower, Flying Swift. Won by six lengths; three lengths. Time

Wanganui Steeplechase:—(l) Ponjola (A. Tricklebank) 1, (2) Matu 2, (3) Airtight 3. Scr : Democratic, Birklieek. Won by three lengths,' third eight lengths away. Time 6.3 2-5.
CHESTER CUP
LONDON, May 14
The Chester Cup resulted:—Mountain Lad I, Paul Carot 2, Dark Hillock 3. Eighteen started. Won by one and a half lengths, three-quart-ers of a length between second and third horses.
