Some'- Ghristchurc’h charities will benefit to the extent of about forty . housahd pounds through the will of the late George Mitcliell,, formerly of Christchurch, who died at Governor’s Bay on Anzac fitly. Mr Mitchell was well-known in Christchurch as a printer’s broker. He retired some years ago. His charitable bequests are subject to certain prior bequests and annuities. The estate on the death of the last annuitant will be divided into five parts. It'i,s expected that the total then available for distribution will be about £401,000. Two of .the five parts are to-be paid to the Sal-: "ation Army to apply the income in: insisting patients who have their first! babies at the Salvation Army Materri nity Home, Christchurch, and. tlio as-, sistartce to be given when they leave Die institution. . Two parts are to be naid to the Canterbury Hospital Board; to use the iiicotne in providing extra; eomfors for the- inmates of the. Jilb--ilee Home, Wbolston. The other part goes do the Trustees of the Presbyter-! : an Girls’ Orphanage to assist girls leaving that institution to make their wav in life.
