There is a record entry of two hundred and seventy-two for the amateur golf championship at St. Andrews, beginning on May 26th. The entrants include eight American Waller Cup players and fourteen others. Michael Scott, L. M. MacPherson (Royal Melbourne Club), L. H. Campbell (of Christchurch, New Zealand, the present holder), also French, Can l adian, South African, and Indian representatives are among the entrants. LAI) lES’ CHAMPIONSHIP. LONDON, May 12. In the golf championship at Form by Miss McLeod (Royal Melbourne Club) and the Misses L. and G. Barclay (Royal Kinston Club, Tasmania) were scratched in the second round. Miss G. Hay (Brown Heads) defeated Miss Jack on two up and one to play. Mrs Barbour heat Mrs Rymill (Australian) three and two. Tho survivors from the second round include Misses Molly Gourlay, -Toy Winn, and also the American, Mjss Glenna Collett.
