The steamer Mooltan was tossed by a swell in the by, but eventually at Princes Pier, after considerable damage was done both to ship and wjiarf. Besidents of Inglewood experienced an anxious night. The town reservoir was not able to stand the strain, and the top bank gave wv, but settled down on a. firm foundation. As a pre-ar-ranged signal for immediate danger, the local firebel 1 was sounded and residents rushed from their homes. Surrounding parts were flooded to a depth of a few inches, but actually little damage was done.
